Axladitsa-Avatakia
Living Wholeness
Place
Axladitsa-Avatakia
is a place rooted in a practice of wholeness and co-creation. The land is located at the southern end of the Pelion peninsula, 5 hours north of Athens, 3.5 hours south of Thessaloniki, and 1.5 hours south of the city of Volos. The beach of Kastri and the fishing port of Platania are the nearest villages, 3km and 6km respectively. http://www.pelion.org/geography/index.asp
Axladitsa is natural, rural and untamed - and has expansive views of the Aegean Sea and the islands of Skiathos and Skopelos. Axladitsa’s landscape is diverse and includes ravines with steep edges and dry underground streams 'rema', 6 hectares of olive groves (including 350 olive trees and other mixed fruit trees) and 4 hectares of protected woodland. Wild flowers bloom in the
spring and numerous birds, foxes, jackals, wild boar, snakes and other wildlife make their home here. A dirt track provides access to the main
house as well as other parts of the land, and a 1km footpath, steep in
places, follows the ancient ‘monopati’ route, connecting Axladitsa to
the Aegean Sea. Photos
